Student Health Services

RCS partners with Meridian Health Services to provide health services in each of our eleven student buildings.  The primary goal of the Richmond Community Schools Health Services Department is protecting the health and well-being of all children.  Richmond High School is the home to a school-based health clinic where every student has access to affordable health services.  Our Meridian staff of Registered Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses, Medical Assistants, and Nurse Practitioner provide quality and caring service to our students on a daily basis.

Online Handbook for RCS Health Services Staff

The information handbook containing links below, has been prepared as a guide for Richmond Community Schools personnel and uniform procedures throughout the corporation. Fortunately, most injuries and illnesses that occur at school are minor.

However, more serious types of injuries and illnesses do occur, and trained personnel are prepared to take timely and appropriate action. Parents are basically responsible for selecting and providing medical care. However, when parents cannot be contacted, the school acts "en loco parentis" to the best of its ability and for the best interest of the student.
