Student Health Services
The primary goal of the Richmond Community Schools Health Services is protecting the health and well-being of all children. This handbook has been prepared as a guide for Richmond Community Schools personnel and a unification of procedures throughout the corporation. Fortunately, most injuries and illnesses that occur at school are minor.
However, more serious types of injuries and illnesses do occur, and trained personnel are prepared to take timely and appropriate action. Parents are basically responsible for selecting and providing medical care. However, when parents cannot be contacted, the school acts "en loco parentis" to the best of its ability and for the best interest of the student.
