RCS Announces Leadership Changes for 2022-2023 School Year May 25, 2022 At the School Board meeting Wednesday night, Superintendent Dr. Curtis Wright announced several leadership changes. The following administrators will start in their new roles effective July 1, 2022.• Elizabeth Markward will become the Director of Exceptional Student Education at the RCS Administration Building. Markward currently serves as the principal of Crestdale Elementary School, a position she has held for the past 7 years. • Mallory Cameron will become the principal of Charles Elementary School. Cameron currently serves as the principal of Starr Elementary School, a position she has held for the past 2 years.• Nicole VanDervort will become the principal of Vaile Elementary School. VanDervort currently serves as a district administrator at the RCS Administration Building. Richmond Community Schools will soon begin the search for new principals for Crestdale Elementary School and Starr Elementary School.
Wayne County's Public Schools Discuss Masks and Contract Tracing for Upcoming School Year All Wayne County Public Schools will reopen with in-person learning. Masks will be optional, however, the order from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) requires masks on public transportation, including school buses. For staff and students who are not vaccinated, contract tracing will continue to be followed and reported to the Indiana Department of Health.

RCS names New Boys' Basketball Coach Billy Wright, a former NCAA Division 1 head coach, NCAA Division 1 assistant coach, and Pike High School head boys’ basketball coach, has been hired as the next Richmond High School head boys’ basketball coach.
RCS selects Kristen Brunton as new board member for District 3 Richmond Community Schools Board of School Trustees held a special meeting today and have appointed Kristen Brunton to serve District 3. Mrs. Brunton will take the oath of office on June 16, 2021. Her term will expire December 31, 2022. Mrs. Brunton will be replacing departing board member Suzanne Derengowski. Mrs. Derengowski and her family moved from the Richmond area.
