Alexis Cox Named Richmond High School Softball Coach
RICHMOND (January 13, 2023) – Richmond High School softball has a new head coach as Trustees approved Alexis Cox at the regular school board meeting on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.
Cox is no stranger to the Red Devil Softball program. Over the last two years, she has been the assistant varsity coach. This is her first experience as a head varsity coach.
“We are excited to have Coach Cox lead our softball program,” said RHS Athletic Director, Clay Bolser. “I am confident she will ensure that our student-athletes have a high-quality experience.”
A 2015 graduate Centerville High School, she was a member of their softball program. During that time, she played third base, shortstop, and catcher. As a junior, she helped lead her team to its first ever sectional championship. As a senior, she and her teammates were the program’s first ever undefeated conference champions.
“I am extremely excited and honored to have been selected to lead the talented student-athletes of Richmond softball,” Cox said. “Thank you to Athletic Director Clay Bolser for entrusting me with this opportunity. I look forward to connecting with and building a tradition of growth and winning with our student-athletes, the Richmond community and our fans.”
Cox graduated from Purdue University in 2019 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Exceptional Needs. She is currently a special education preschool teacher at the Northeastern Early Learning Center. She resides in Richmond with her Golden Retriever/Siberian Husky mix, Nala.
