As a classroom teacher, I was constantly looking for innovative ways to bring the subject matter alive for my students.  What I found, however, that in order to stay fresh and relevent, it required more time and resources than I had available.  As an eLearning Specialist for RCS, I see a big part of my role as the support and extra set of hands and eyes that teachers need in order to research, test, and implement instructional technologies.  I will be working alongside teachers and students in order to increase engagement, create learning opportunities that reach higher levels of understanding, and strengthen the digital communication skills of our students.

I have always been eager to try the newest trends in education.  Piloting technology for engagement and student achievement in my classroom has created a new adventure in my career.  As an eLearning Specialists for RCS, I look forward to working with teachers and staff to bring new ideas to curriculum and instruction through technology integration.  It is imperative to have teachers modeling, sharing, piloting, and developing 21st century skills in the classroom.  I will be working with our teachers to guide them on this ever-changing journey of eLearning to increase student achievement, engagement, and self-awareness.
